Song Lyrics

Here's a little bit about some of our songs, and how Nathan came to write them.

The Bankers

This is a true account of what the banks are currently doing to me. They charged me £1,200 in the space of just 30 days, more than my monthly salary. Consequently the mortgage went on the credit card and the debt spiralled. They kept on adding charge after charge and now I believe they owe me £3,500 in illegal charges, not to mention the rest of the debt, that wouldn't have happened if they hadn't charged me £1200 in the 1st place.

I believe these charges are illegal. They are now taking me to court, spending tax payers' bailouts (my taxes), to try and force me to pay money that I didn't even owe them in the 1st place. In March I lost my job, so in effect Government owned banks are now using tax payers' money to illegally sue the unemployed. They are doing this to millions of families across the UK. Lyrics >>

Sleeping Boy

I wrote this around the time that my parents split up. When you've dedicated your entire life to someone, the bed must feel extremely empty and lonely. Lyrics >>

The Drifter

This was nearly called "A soldier's tale". Our boys coming home from the army to their families must be disgusted with the state of our country. No jobs, no allowance, and no support, and they're banned from bars. Can't do right for doing wrong, this was inspired by Ennio Morricone.Lyrics >>

The Cuffs

I sat in a police cell singing "A Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash, after someone had tried to ruin a gig I was due to play. When I got out, I wrote The Cuffs, it's a dig at the police wasting their time, when they should be down in Peckham solving gun and knife crimes. We were involved with the Crimestoppers street crime campaign in 2008. Lyrics >>
